AGENDA
13 July 2006, Paris. Meeting with Wang Ou, Secretary-General of the Committee for the Reform of Financial Markets at the CSRC. Mr Wang pointed out that the State’s interference in the economy had diminished since the opening up in the 1980s. He also insisted on the risks entailed by an excessive influx of FDI, calling for their better regulation. Regarding China’s domestic stock markets, Mr. Wang noted the success of reforms which paved the way for new developments. In his eyes, China’s stock markets will eventually reach international standards andthe role of the CSRC will be limited to regulating the exchanges and their developments.
